So I’m having a very small wedding (around 12 people) either at a church or possibly at home. I don’t want this to be formal since it’s such a small group. I think I would feel kind of silly wearing a full length wedding gown with such a small group. I’m considering something like this. What do you think?

ladybug55078: That dress is beautifu! If you’re looking for other options you could check out Modcloth. They have a good selection of both long and short white dresses and most are under $100.

I could do a shirt wedding dress to still have kind of a bridal look but not quite as formal. I know the lace makes it look a bit more formal but just something like that.

ladybug55078: I think you are overthinking this. Obviously you have great taste, evidenced by the two pics you posted. Wear a dress that you love.

I think you need to look inside your heart and do whatever it’s telling you. If the thought of wearing a traditional wedding dress makes you excited and happy, there is nothing silly about it, even if your wedding is small and intimate. But if you would be happier and more comfortable in a shorter, less traditional dress, there’s nothing wrong with that, either.

I wore knee length white dresses for our private ceremony and subsequent celebration. I didn’t want the muss and fuss (and cost!) of a traditional bridal gown. There were so many good ones to choose from! The ones posted on this thread are all awesome. I know you’ll pick a good one.

I am wearing this to my very small wedding, so you are not alone in having a shorter and less formal dress!

I think going a little bridal is still a good idea even if you don’t want to go all out. You might wish you’d done something dressy later in life. BHLDN has some great toppers that I think make even simple dresses look amazing and bridal!

Both are lovely, as long as they make you feel like a bride 🙂
