Should Moissanite have visible inclusions?

There’s lot of posts about this.  I believe the general consensus was that you’re seeing the culet and because the stone is so clear, it’s very prominant.

In other words, it’s normal.

hufflepuffkatie :  I had a moissanite.  The spot was also not exactly in the middle.  Because of the way the stone is cut (the angles inside; I don’t know the exact terminology) the spot looked “off center”.  And you’re probably only seeing one spot at different angles – again because of the way the stone is cut.

hufflepuffkatie :  I see what you are talking about and it’s definitely not a culet.  It’s like a small black dot towards the surface of the stone, right?

I have an SI2 and when my stone is dirty, I can see the inclusions.  When it’s clean, it’s like they aren’t there.  I’m not bothered by them in the least bit, but I bought the stone knowing they were there.

As PPs have mentioned, make sure it’s nice and clean, get a loupe and then determine whether or not you can keep a stone with that inclusion.
