My BFF is getting married this summer and I am a bridesmaid. She is the last of our group to get married (at 40) – I got married 10 years ago and have a 8 year old daughter. Her parents are very social and insist on having a huge wedding (300 plus people) at their country club.
We are hosting a shower and the bride wants to use the same the color scheme as the wedding for the shower. I was thinking that we shouldn’t do this as you’d want to have those colors be more special on the wedding day and not overused and visualized prior to the big day. Does anyone know if there is a true rule or thought on this?

If she’s insistant on using the same colors, why don’t use the secondary primary color. For example, if her colors are pink and purple, but it seems like there is more pink than purple, then for the shower use more purple than pink.
Or you could use one of her accent colors as the primary color scheme.

I think it’s fine to use the same colors. My favorite color is pink, so it was only natural that my wedding and shower be pink. I feel like there can never be too much pink! We also threw a shower for my friend based on her wedding colors. Her main color was chocolate brown, so we had a chocolate shower.
