If his parents will be staying at your place on the night of, I’d get one. The other option is to get one for them, but honestly I’d rather enjoy the pampered feeling of a hotel on that night anyways.

We are in the same situation as you.  We are getting a hotel room for the night and the night before for me and the BMs.  I don’t want to spend my wedding night with his mother, OMG NO.

Yes you should totally get a hotel! It would make a great wedding present from someone too, wouldn’t it. *wink wink nudge nudge*

Set up your place nicely with some notes for the in-laws, but get a hotel room to make the night extra special. Some hotels even have “love” packages you can add to the cost which usually include things like expensive roses, alcohol and chocolate. There is a hotel in my area that has a suite with an outdoor hot tub! Totally taking my guy there for our next anniversary!

I stayed at my parents’ the night before my wedding—worst decision ever! We had a lot of family staying and the toilet flushed like every half hour through the night with 15 people or so there…I didn’t sleep much (and I slept on the couch because relatives were in my bed).

ZOMG if I could do it all over again I’d have stayed at the hotel with my husband. I say, wherever you think you’ll get the best night’s sleep is where you should stay. A peaceful hotel room with your soon to be husband might be your best bet! 🙂

@nursejp06: It won’t be that much extra. 🙂 I think it’ll be totally worth it. Have fun!

I would! I mean, you will want to have fun on your wedding night I am sure and that is mighty difficult to do with parents in the next room I am sure.

@nursejp06: Spending the extra $120 >>>>>>>>>worrying your in-laws are hearing the ‘post-party’ going on.

Enjoy your night, you shouldn’t have to feel like sneaky teenagers 😉 Plus you get some time in the hot tub and breakfast made for you. Win-Win!

We are getting a suite for us for the night before and the night of our wedding. Our bridesmaids, groomsmen, parents, and guests are staying in the same hotel. We are staying there to hang out with our out of town guests.

We stayed at a hotel the night of our wedding, because we had guests staying at our home – it was the best decision we could have made. The next day we still had to make our way to our house to see people off, but it was nice getting out of the house for the night.
