If you dont like a halo, don’t get it to make your stone look bigger.  Get what you like.  A few hundred difference is nothing for a ring.  It’s a scarafice of a few date nights out, or skipping coffees or manicures/haircuts for a few months.  It’d be worth it to get the ring I really wanted imo.  I’ll admit, I looked at a getting a new halo setting to get more finger coverage and make the ring look bigger, but ulitmately every halo I tried on just didnt’ look good on me so I’m glad I have the soliatare.

I think the comment that came across as stuck up, catty and dickish was this – It might not be nice or kind, but women know that other women get halos to make their engagement rings look bigger and snark on them.

Some women obviously do get halo’s for that reason but I’m willing to bet the majority of halo owners went for that style due to their personal taste, the fact that they’re IMO stunning and a bit different.

To say that women KNOW women get halo’s to make their diamond look bigger clearly shows that those women who KNOW so much are clueless.

If you make a statement like you did on the first page then people are going to respond and righly so.

Who are you? Are you a sockpuppet of peachblushpink or whatever her username is? Your comment reads that way, and as I’m sure you know, sockpuppeting is against TOS unless you’re going anon for a sensitive issue. If not, then you have a lot of investment in this discussion for seemingly no reason.

ETA: LOL, why the delete and rewrite? Sketchy. You know the mods can view your IP address and can figure out whether you’re a sockpuppet in that way.

MrsBuesleBee:  No, she said she’s heard snarky comments in real life but then went on to make the statement that women know women get halos to make their diamond look bigger.

For heaven’s sake, the original post is ABOUT getting a halo (which op mentions she isn’t crazy about) in order to increase finger coverage for less money.

FantasticFawn:‘s comment was completely on point. And accurate.

FantasticFawn:  I’m not sure why everyone is jumping on you for this. It’s true and I know because I considered doing it. I ended up getting a bigger diamond in a solitare instead of a slightly smaller one in a halo, it looks better to me. Less coverage but the diamond really shines & can be the focus- plus it’s bigger.

milabeehappy:   Dont settle for a halo just because it’ll look a little bigger or save a little money. Your SO said not to worry about it so don’t 😊

j9marie:  A sockpuppet is a secondary account. People often make them for the purpose of responding to themselves and backing themselves up in a discussion. It’s not OK on this forum unless you’re going anon for something sensitive that you don’t want associated with your main account.

milabeehappy:  I agree – the arguing is getting out of hand!
