Only because you asked, WAIT.  You’re too young, and only when you reach your later 20’s, early 30s, 40s, etc., will you be open to understanding that statement.

I agree with the other posts. My SO and I have been together for 9 years and we started dating when we were 15 and 17. Now, we are 24 and 26 and are just now giving marriage serious consideration. We knew we wanted to be together as life partners, but also wanted to spend time enjoying life in our early 20’s, having some space to grow as individuals and not add the stress of marriage/wedding planning etc. If you know you two are meant to be, then waiting will not hurt anything!
