Half of our guests are in the same country and city as where our wedding will be, half of our guests (including us) will be travelling from abroad. Should we send save the date to everybody or only those who will be travelling from abroad?

I would send STD’s to all to avoid the “Why did they get a STD and not me? Am I not invited?” converation.

Yes I agree with pp, send them to all. That way everyone knows the date and if they are invited or not and there won’t be any miscommunication or hurt feelings.

i would send to everyone. if i found out some people received save the dates but i did not, i would assume i wasn’t invited.

Definitely send them to all! Even if a person doesn’t have to travel to your wedding, they still need to keep the date open. I would hate to miss someone’s wedding because they assumed I would be there because I didn’t have to travel. I plan trips waaaayyyy far in advance, so a save the date would be much appreciated incase I needed to shuffle things around for a wedding I’d like to attend.

Everyone! I like getting a wedding on my calendar sooner than later no matter where it will be.

Everyone! Save the Dates help people plan their time, not just their international travel. If printing costs are your concern, electronic save the dates work just fine!
