I accidently voted for the wrong thing! So disregard a Yaris vote since I clicked the wrong button.
I would keep the Yaris. But I’m a little biased because I have a 2007 Yaris (the sedan model). I’m in love with my car. I miss it so much when I drive my other car or my FI’s car so I understand your attachment! The gas mileage is awesome, it’s reliable, and it’s just so darn cute. I don’t think fitting a car seat into it would be a problem.

Disregrd my yards vote, I clicked too fast. I hate minivans! But that aside, your car gets better mileage, is newer, and you love it. Keep it!

I didn’t vote… we are getting a Honda Odyssey so I am a little biased. I LOVE minivans and we love the Odyssey. Oh and we have 4 kids so we need the room. I don’t see why you’d drive a minivan when you have no kids. Plus I thin ksince your hubby will be getting the car he wants, then you shold keep the car you love. In a few years, like you said, you can trade up and get a bigger car when you do eventually have kids.

I have a 2009 Yaris as well!! I LOVE it… so I voted trade in the minivan! We’re planning kids in about 2 more years, so I’ll still have the Yaris, and while I know it won’t be as spacious as a minivan, I think it’ll be fine for a carseat. Gotta love the amazing mpgs! That’ll be a huge money saver in the long run!

I vote you keep the Yaris and he gets a Subaru–and if in 4 years when you have a baby it doesn’t work, then switch cars so he’s driving the Yaris and you have the Subaru!

Oh sheesh subtract one yaris vote >_>…I was on team keep the yaris and got all yaris happy and didn’t read the poll. Ooops. Trade the van — yaris gets better gas and you’ll save more money to put towards the new car + you like it more and it will be YOUR car

Get rid of the aging car first. Also, try and sell it private party. Trade-ins are usually a money waster!
