- Wedding: October 2019
I just had my wedding last Friday and I wanted to just encourage all bee’s about to be married to do more vs. less with a photographer and videographer. Our wedding only had 87 guests and it was fairly low key classic wedding at a venue. I honestly can say that when people say it flies by IT DOES. I feel like I lived that Friday in 5 minute flashes of time. It actually makes me sad that my memories of that day are so few simply because it goes so fast and everyone is grabbing your attention its all just a blur. I am so incredibly glad I asked a friend’s fiance to video some of our wedding so I can actually see it! Without that i would have hardly any idea how guests saw it, and i wouldn’t have any way to really experience it myself since it was just so fast. If i didn’t have any video of the ceremony i would be genuinely upset right now. Thank God I asked a friend to do it and also have some family texted me that they shot.
So for all those brides out there, seriously consider having someone video your wedding and reception, don’t skimp on having a photographer, and consider spending more money to add more time to your reception, preferably at the start as guests tend to leave starting at 10pm. If i could do it over again I would have our wedding start at 3pm not 6pm to have more time at the reception. We even got the photos done before the ceremony and got to enjoy the whole cocktail hour but by enjoy i mean we hardly ate it was so busy talking to guests. Having 7:30-11pm was not very much time at all. Do not ignore people when they say it goes by in a flash. It does and you will want some way to jog your memory to remember it. And seriously consider creating a google photo share hub and ask guest to share videos and photos they captured so you can see those as well!
