ladyvk :  what color gold is underneath the plateing? Mine is white gold, not a princess cut though, but I also never take it off and it’s been on there about a year and a half now, and we found it pre-owned…..so I’m going to assume if it ever had rhodium that it’s long gone by now, but I don’t think it was ever plated. Personally I wouldn’t’ bother with plateing.

I got this 9 years ago, wore it for 3.5 years and got it replated once about a year ago. It was still white gold but creamy white, the plating made it way shinier.

My sister has a white gold ring she never takes off either and I think she goes in yearly to have it redipped. She was complaining about that last month. TBH,  its one reason I went for yellow gold,  that and I like the look of yellow gold.

ladyvk : Ok, just my opinion….

I likerose gold and think it is beautiful, but for me, I’m NOT a fan of rose gold for e-ring/wedding bands.

IMO, it’s very trendy and white gold or platinum is classic.

By The Way, your ring is very pretty!

I have white gold and this picture was taken not long after a rhodium plating. I love that they look brand new after they are done. I only wear my rings when I go out and take them off when I get home so maybe that helps it last longer.

I also found that the jeweller that did it this time, the rhodium has lasted much longer compared to the one that did it before so maybe go somewhere else to have it done as different jewellers will use a different rhodium mix and see if you prefer it.

Your rings are pretty.

Here’s my princess! My rings are all platinum. I prefer the look of white metals to gold. And while I love rose gold it may look dated if it becomes unfashionable in the future. I definitely recommend platinum.

This is not mine. It’s my mom’s ring. 3 stone diamond ring. Not sure the size of the stones, nor the specs. I do know it’s set in platinum and comes from bluenile
