I’d like to start a thread about your “runner up” dress and then “THE ONE!”
So, show me your runner up and then show me “THE ONE!” =)
Let me know why it didn’t work out with the runner up and why you love THE ONE!
Here is my runner up dress, It didn’t work out for me in the end because it just was way to much dress on the bottom in the end for me. It was a bit too structured on the inside to where I didn’t feel like I could move let alone dance or sit. I wanted to feel comfortable on my day and looking back on it, it kinda reminds me of a broom. lol but it was a very pretty dress, just not for me in the end.

Here is THE ONE!!
I loved the keyhole back with cap sleeves. The lace detail is just beyond beautiful. Its super light and flowy and it doesn’t have any bone structure which is what I was looking for in the end. The button detail work on the back is just beautiful too. The train on it is amazing and I just couldn’t beat the price either! I will have it tied like a bow for my day with a brooch. π I can’t wait to get my alterations for the final product!

Runner up: Jenny Packham Azalea. Gorgeous detailing, but too much out of the budget and required too many complicated alterations. FI also mentioned randomly that he didn’t like sleeves.

The ONE: Francesca Miranda Ambrosia (minus the sash). Style of the dress was much more flattering to my figure without losing interesting detail and felt like my dress. I’m planning to do some cool alterations that’s super excited about!

This was my runner-up from Allure (I can’t remember the style number). While I looooved the color, lace straps, and train, the bust just looked awkward on me.

I ended up going with a customized Casablanca dress – I combined the 2010 with the top of the 1857. It was perfect π

Here’s a photo from the final fitting so you can see the back and bustle.

Runner up (WK0801-1 from Calla Bridal):

The one (Dere Kiang 11066):

I loved the detail on the front of the bodice of the runner up, but I wasn’t so fond of the skirt, and also it was quite big and heavy. The winner is simpler and lighter, with cleaner lines – much more me. Also, the runner up was around $2500, while the one I bought was $500.

@allyfally: Thank you!! I just bought the dress today! I’m sad to say goodbye to the Justice of the Peace, but the FM feels much more like me. Your dress is beautiful – definitely made the right choice!

This is the runner up – I loved how it hugged my curves!
Ultimately I ended up with this, which was more what I imagined myself in, but with more bling hehe

@urbanriceball: OMG, I TRIED THIS EXACT DRESS ON. I Loved it, but it wasn’t quite what I was looking for. (Sample Room NYC ??) I haven’t seen anyone else on the bee with this designer’s dresses…which is such a shame. I love love love LOVED her dresses!! So glad you got this one!!!

@PeachSnapple: Yes the Sample Room! That’s so funny!! How long ago did you try it on? The dress in such good condition, the ladies said it was a “new sample”…whatever that means. I haven’t found any real brides in Francesca Miranda either, even doing a Google search…surprising because I liked a lot of her designs while I was there.

@Shantly07: So pretty, I love your winner! It’s like you’re on a whimsical cloud π
@flying_hearts: I agree, the bust looks much nicer on the dress you picked! (I was swooning over your over-the-shoulder cap-sleeves in another post. Did you recap?)
@urbanriceball: That might be one of the most fun dresses I’ve seen yet. Are those rose petals??
@foreverlovex: Your choice looked gorgeous on you. Much, much softer than the first π Great idea for a thread btw!
Here’s my runner-up. From Davids Bridal. I still swoon over the way the train lays, but the overall construction and quality just wasn’t right for me.

And here is my dress! Allure Couture. Discontinued so I have no idea what the model number was.

My Allure runner up. I wasn’t totally digging the taffeta skirt and I felt kind of awkward about the flappiness of the side of the mermaid skirt. If the skirt had been more of a circular shape and of a different material the chioce may have been harder. I really loved the lace pattern on it.

And the one, Sincerity 3201.
