@runsyellowlites: Wow! That is SO gorgeous! Do you have a link on instructions how to make peper flowers, or how did you learn? I actually bought a lot of gorgeous paper and I don’t know what to do with it now.  Thanks!

I am not sure if you wanted the instructions for the balloon cover or the petal curtain (or something else), but I have the instructions for the petal curtain in an earlier post on this thread. For the balloon cover, I used the instructions from this link: http://g42.org/xwiki/bin/view/Main/HowToSewASphere to make the covers out of tulle (it’s the only material light enough to float with a balloon inside it). I then used 36″ round balloons (link: http://www.balloonsexpress.com/store/c/10043-36-inch-Round-Balloons.html) and filled them with helium. The smaller balloons can’t seem to hold enough helium to give the balloon any lift, even though those covers don’t seem that heavy.

I also used a hot glue gun and some petals that I bought from http://www.petalgarden.com ($49.95 for 3,000 petals) to get the petals on the cover.

ok, my stuff sucks compared to some of this!!! LOL!  So far, my best DIY is my black dragon egg. ๐Ÿ™‚  and my pillow cover I did for my christmas pillow that I never did put away.  I don’t have a photo of it, though ๐Ÿ™

OMG so bookmarking this thread for ideas for my sister!

My mom made my veil.  It had little pearls all throughout and a gorgeous applique on the end.

I made the Martha Stewart tissue holders.  Took HOURS and my hands ached for a week.  Proud of myself for surviving the experience.

ok… well… it’s not painted and it’s missing the steeples on the tower…. but I still think my card box is the best damn one EVER….. if you’re into non-traditional card boxes ๐Ÿ˜‰  there will be four “towers” and it’ll be painted to look like a cathedral/castle!!!! wooot!

@eehkay: Seriously those balloon covers are one of the best ideas I have ever seen – its ideas like that, that make me cry b/c I didn’t see it before my wedding, lol!

The curtain is absolutely amazing too – if I were you, I would try to sell both your balloon covers & petal curtains after your wedding – they are so gorgeous!

All right, now one of my friends needs to have a kid so that I can host a baby shower and make those ballon covers ๐Ÿ˜‰
