Compared to what everyone else bought, I’m  so boring! I bought a Kindle Oasis on Black Friday. I upgraded from my Paperwhite. I love it.

I bought these for myself for my kids, they wanted to pick out rings with me that they like. So they get these when they are older.

This is the set I wear every day, and I got it myself during quarantine! Thankfully DH isn’t controlling about my jewelry.

@thecleverfoxgirl:

That bracelet is everything! Love it love it. I’m also a fan of Tiffany in general and Peretti jewelry specifically.

I spoiled myself a bit too much this year πŸ™ˆ

Got a little pendant with teeny tiny diamonds

A pair of cross earrings with pink sapphires

And 2 opal rings, one in yellow gold shaped like a star and one in white gold shaped like a flower.

So far only the rings arrived!

@bearinabeecostume:  Sweet! It has night mode, right? Like, warm yellow light. Do you recommend it? Is it a big upgrade compared to the paperwhite?

I just bought physical books from the book depository πŸ™ˆ

@alh56:  good for you for treating yourself!!! Your ring is beautiful.

So… apparently, I treated myself quite a bit. Repurposed some of my mom’s diamonds into a 3 stone floating halo ring. Bought myself a round and marquise 1/2 eternity band because after seeing it at my jeweler’s I couldn’t stop thinking about it. πŸ˜‚ Purchased a new moissanite. Getting all my rose gold jewelry dipped in white gold and having some stones reset – all those pieces are at the jeweler’s right now. Can’t wait to get them back. But my biggest treat to myself was my new car. I didn’t need a new one, but updated to a fully loaded 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee. My reasons… The car offered a lot more safety features and I spend a lot of time commuting, and I’ve got important cargo (my 2 yr old foster son). I’ve worked hard, I’m 16 yrs into my career and could afford to treat myself, so I did.
With this said, my jewelery budget needs to be replenished before I make other purchases 😝

1st and 3rd rings are the new ones.

new moissy 🌈

@crystalmaiden:  Honestly, it’s not a huge upgrade. It’s the small things that make a difference. I love my Paperwhite, but the Oasis night mode screen is what sold me on it. I read in bed, in the dark, and it’s easy on the eyeballs. The screen is a little bigger, and you can comfortably hold in in either hand. The screen rotates. There are buttons on the side of the screen that turn pages. I do like the “paper” feel of my Paperwhite’s screen better, but the Oasis has a nice screen too. It’s waterproof, so that’s kind of cool. You can listen to audio books on it, also. I definitely recommend it, but if you can find a good deal on a Paperwhite, you won’t be disappointed.

I used to own a ton of physical books, but donated all but my antique books when I bought my Paperwhite. I have a collection of purchased, free, and library-borrowed books on my Kindle, and I can take it anywhere. Definitely look onto one if you’re interested.

I bought a champagne diamond and had a custom made setting. I love the ring, but hardly wear it because I realised I’m not a RHR kinda girl and prefer to just wear my wedding jewellery. I’m going to try and sell it because it sits in my jewellery box. :/

My Black Friday “treats” to myself were all nail polish purchases. I bought quite a bit of holiday collections and past collections that I had been eyeing for a while. Because I remain totally obsessed with nail polish, even though I have more than any sane person could wear in a lifetime. (*insert nervous laugh here* o.o)

Jewelry-wise, I treated myself to two new custom pieces this year. One was for our anniversary, so it was really more of a gift from my hubby in my mind.

But Snowy was a present from me to me to celebrate going back to work after around 17 years as a stay-at-home mom. It was a big adjustment and, honestly, kind of scary to go back to work after such a long time away from it. I started back in my job around February and started working on Snowy around the beginning of March. But then, COVID really took off. I got furloughed for a few months, which was disappointing. Talk about bad timing! In the end, the company I work for came back just as strong, and I was fortunate that my boss was eager to have me return. I was extremely lucky that everything worked out okay, in the end.

Such a fun thread and nice to see what all the bees treated themselves to after a difficult year!  After thinking long and hard about treating myself to an expensive luxury bag (I never spent more than $300 on a bag), I bit the bullet and bought a Louis Vuitton Neverfull PM!  It was a splurge and I absolutely love it and have no regrets. It’s not the most expensive bag in the world, but more than I ever would have allowed myself to spend on a bag. But it’s perfect for me and I worked really hard all year and feel I deserve it.  It’s truly a classic and I can use it for many years and then pass it down to my daughter. After I got the Neverfull, my LV addiction started to kick in more and I have also purchased the Emilie wallet in the matching pattern.
