Lily_of_the_valley:  Thanks for the tip! How wide are they? I don’t have particularly wide feet, but the narrow-ness is my biggest beef with flats.

I work in an animal shelter but I don’t interact with the animals all day long. I dress casual as does most of the staff unless they are in animal care or on our vet team – they wear scrubs. One time a puppy went pee on my leg. That pretty much killed my desire to wear nice business clothes to work.

Lily_of_the_valley:  our office is business casual, but I usually get away with wearing maxi dresses and cardigans with flats or sandals.  It’s supposed to be business casual but we’re pretty lax.  I mean I wear stuff like this: http://www.target.com/p/junior-s-maxi-t-shirt-dress/-/A-15010888.  However, I’m very short so I can fit into juniors.  As long as it’s not ripped or torn it’s fine to wear.  We usually wear clothes that we would consider something we may wear to a dinner.  at least I try to.  I’m also only 22 so I think that’s another factor in why I wear the clothes I do.

I am basically a walking catalog for the Loft. My office is business casual but on the dressier side of that. I’ve gained some weight in recent years, and now I prefer the way the Loft clothes (especially pants) fit. Before that, I also shopped a lot at Banana Republic. I usually wear dress pants, a dress every now and then, lots of cardigans, and sometimes a blazer.

Lily_of_the_valley:  My office is pretty casual only rules are nothing ripped and no jeans. Usually I wear black pants or leggings and a comfy shirt/sweater. These are two pretty standard work outfits:

I LOVE this thread! I am in school and when I find a job in the field I want to work in, I will be out of scrubs and into office attire. I know nothing about this, so this thread is really helpful. I love where a PP said most of her outfits are easy to match. That is what I needed because I used to have to plan outfits which was a giant pain!!! Thanks, ladies!

This is a great thread! I’m in engineering grad school right now and work in a chemical lab, so I basically wear jeans + sneakers (have to wear close-toed shoes) + shirt EVERY DAY (even in the hot summer, which sucks). I’m usually considered one of the “dressier” people because I’ll wear cute cardigans to try and not look boring allll the time. I’m switching into education soon, though, so I need to revamp my wardrobe! SO excited to get “teacher clothes” haha
