I just got my 2ct round, size 4.5 finger! It might face up slightly smaller than 2ct though as it isn’t an excellent cut. ring_fullUntitled_design-2

@firstcomesluv:  Your sweet, thanks! We got it for a great price for the size, and it faces up beautifully. Dramatically sparklier than the cushions we were looking at, so I never thought to ask what cut it was. You can only imagine my suprise when I found it wasnt a very good+ cut as thats all I’d been looking at. Shaneco goes more off what you see when you look at the diamond, not all the ratings. The clarity on it isn’t the best either, but I have to SEARCH for an inclusion, and even then I can only find a single tiny one. I learned to shop with my eyes rather than just reading the reports!

@emilythoreson97:  The fixation on cut is getting ridiculous when someone with a ring as lovely as yours feels the need too apologize indirectly for its less than stellar cut job. There are people who take it to the nth degree and can’t be satisfied until they have a diamond labeled as superideal, and to them no other diamond has value. They can’t fathom that someone might just want a shiny rock of a certain size that’s within their price range. Anyway your ring and stone are beautiful.

@sunburn:  You are SO sweet! I think that is the stance ShaneCo takes, where they don’t just go pick out rings based off the papers but actually by looking at them. I’d have no idea this ring wasn’t cut perfectly if it wasn’t for the GIA report. Hubby and I were dissapointed to see it on the paper, but I settled on the fact I can always upgrade for the price difference if it is actually an issue. I appreciate your viewpoint and you’re definitely right about it. We didn’t go in with a set budget, but I had an idea and wanted the largest rock that still looked good for it, and didn’t have any visual imperfections. I think a lot of people will be shocked if they go into a jeweler and ask to see diamonds of all ratings, because many don’t realize they don’t need a flawless diamond for it to be beautiful. And lets be real, nobody is coming up to you with a magnifying glass to see your diamond at 10x magnification 🤣

This is 1.85ct modern round brilliant (7.87mm) on size 5.75.  I’ve since upgraded, but found this size to npbe great. Congrats!

I believe mine is about 2ct cushion cut set in a Tacori band.

Congrats!  Can’t wait to see your ring. My perfectly imperfect ring, inclusions and all! 2.47 J and it’s considered a deep cut, which I learned isn’t the best type of cut but I still love it!

Congratulations on your new ring! Can’t wait to see it and I’m sure you’re so excited. Mine is a bitter bigger than you asked, 2.5 CT, but any excuse to show her off 😊

@LunaC:  Oooh such a nice picture, your ring is so beautiful, it’s a three stones? Or do the baguettes count as shank sparkle?
