I think it’s a noticible difference, espeically when you’re staring at it everyday.  Shrinkage happens, go for the 1.5 🙂

I have a 1.3 on size 4.5 so it’ll have about the same ‘finger coverage’ as 1.5 on a size 5

I say (if you can afford it) go bigger. I have a 1.25 but it’s a halo style, so I think the coverage is just right without being too much. If I had a solitaire I’d go 1.5 even 2 carats for sure.

Account for shrinkage, go bigger as long as you can afford it!

What is shrinkage???

I think you should go bigger.  I don’t think 1.5 will look “too big” ever.

Mine is a 1.3 on a 4.75. A 1.5 would be a wonderful size. Not to sound ungrateful, but I would have loved a 1.5

I know you’re hankering after a round stone, but I thought to throw my 2 cents in even though I have a 1.57 radiant cut. I was initially debating between 1.25 or 1.5 range for the center stone. I’m so glad I went with the 1.5 range. Even though I get the “Oh My God that’s huge” comments every now and then (which is also due to the fact my ring size is 4.25), I think it’s well worth it. It’s just right.

Just in case you were wondering:

I was wondering the same thing. Mine is a halo and had originally ordered A 1 ct bt then changed it to a 1.25.  But now I hope it’s not too much with the halo. Are there any 1.25 halo pics?
