FutureMrsFoy:   How does having the dress specially made even work?  I would like to know that process.    Do you get to see samples or do they make it based off a picture or drawing you had?   How does dress fitings and taking measurements etc work when doing it custome throgh etsy?

Mine was from the $99 David’s Bridal sale. It was actually my second choice dress out of all the ones I tried on! I couldn’t justify paying $875 more for one I only liked slightly better, so I went with the bargain dress:

All of the wedding dresses at Ann Taylor are 40% off right now (so I think they’d all be under $500), but sometimes the sales are even better.  I got mine 50% off a month ago, so it was only $325.

happygirl2016:  Well I’m not sure how the custom route works…like if you want to have a dress specially made (ie… send her pics of two dresses you like and combine them etc..) I’m sure at that point you would be getting fabric samples and all. But my Etsy vendor already has like 120 gowns to choose from on her shop page. They are all her gowns and photos…and each gown has description information listed with it. Like the fabrics it’s made out of, the type of train, neckline and all of that. You can make pretty much any changes you want. Like on my dress I changed the zipper back to a corset, added a lace trim and changed the train length. As far as measurements go you can take your own or have a seamstress do it (which I recommend) and then you send them to her and she makes your dress. She will let you know which measurements you need to have taken. And then if you need any alterations after you get the dress you just go to a local seamstress and get them done. I ordered mine like July 12th ish and it was done the first week of August! It’s GREAT quality I was soooo pleasantly surprised. Hope this helps! If anyone wants to know my vendors name just PM me since I can’t post it here 🙂
