.90 triple ex si1 G color on a size five finger. We got engaged in August and at first it seemed HUGE but now that I’m used to it I think it’s the perfect size. I also had originally picked a GIA graded good cut stone and though it was .92 E color it was not nearly as bright and lively as the better quality cut we ended up going with. I would say don’t doubt yourself! It’s not that much under 1.00 regarding the size and usually ones at 1.00 sell for a premium just for that weight. Congrats on picking a ring!

monika54 :  You guys made the right choice and saved money! The size difference is generally .5 of a millimetre which is indistinguishable to the naked eye!

.92 on a size 5.25

congratulations! I know what you mean by hoping for a 1 ct. In my head, I’ve always wanted a 1 ct, but when I did some research on my own and looked at the price difference between a 0.9 and a 1, I told my bf that I’d be okay with a 0.9 because as previous posters mentioned, it’s virtually indistinguishable to the naked eye. I think you made a good choice to go with no halo as it usually makes the center stone pop a bit more. My friend designs jewellery and she let me try on a 0.8 and a 1 ct round diamond (both were triple ex) ring, and i had to put it side by side in order to tell the difference! I think you’ll be quite happy with the 0.9!

I’m not exactly sure of my size but I think it’s .95. It I my grandmothers diamond so I definitely wanted to use it.  I decided to have my fiancé (now husband) bling out my setting to make it my own.  Thankfully my husband did well with the setting and I love it.  It’s a size 6 because my knuckles are larger so it spins when my hands are cold and won’t come off if my hands are warm. So annoying but I love it.

monika54 :  As the quote says” Comparison is the thief of joy”. Your ring sounds really lovely. Try not to compare or you will end up going through life unhappy and full of regrets. Think of the love that goes along with your special ring. Congrats!

monika54 :

I hope you  will forgive me saying   that this ” I’m filled with dread that the stone will look too small” and this  their rings are over a carat and a half.  I hate comparing mine to other people’s , but .….  is an attitude  you would do well to be rid of .I certainly hope you dont  let your  poor Fiance even suspect you feel like  this …….

Mine is a .93 on a size 5 finger, we picked out our wedding bands and I’m obsessed!!! For reference, I chose the 1/3 ct TW band to go with it!!!

I had originally told Fiance I wanted like 2ish carats but after looking at a lot of pictures I changed my mind and said I wanted smaller for every day comfort and because I’d rather have more sparkle than a bigger rock that’s less perfect.

This is 0.9ct on size 4 and I’m in love 😍 I wouldn’t go bigger now that I have it

monika54 :  You definitely made the right choice with going for the .9 ct instead of the 1.0 ct. Trust me! It’s literally the same face up and you pay a huge premium just for the first number being a 1. It’s a marketing strategy and you can look it up! Buying stones right below the 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, 2.5 etc marks gets you the best deals! I myself bought a stone below one of the magic number!
