tisa :  So obnoxious.

“Show me your 0.9 rings”

Tisa: “here’s my 7 carat ring for you to strive for”.

tisa :  Dude, not the right thread here. This thread was so that OP could see how 0.9ct stones look. It wasn’t just a general “show me your ring” thread.

And not everyone wants to upgrade their rings.

macpartyoftwo :   honeyhoney2717 :   minimalistbeex :   bumblebug :  I’m guessing that she (tisa :  ) posted a picture of her ring upgrade specifically because the OP’s post mentioned that she wanted a larger carat size but she couldn’t afford it. She also offered words of encouragement along with the photo since she was somebody that once couldn’t afford their dream ring at first, but now can. Seems harmless to me. Why are you coming after her like that? Your responses seem to be very bullying in nature, and not necessary.

monika54 :  The difference between a 9 carat and 1 carat is very unnoticeable – and I would take quality over quantity any day! Please post a picture of your sparkly when you receive it! I’m sure it’s gorgeous. And Congrats!! xoxo

monika54 :  for contrast to other responses: here’s my ring, it’s .2ctw (used to think it was .25-.27, but recently found the original retail listing) but due to the way it’s set with the surrounding diamonds the face is 6mm which is the same measurement as a .84 solitaire according to a chart I looked at. If you’re looking for a little extra finger coverage maybe just choose a setting with a flush halo.

bluecutie00 :  Maybe tisa’s response and words of encouragement would have been appropriate for a thread about ring upgrades in general, but this was done way out of context and in poor taste. If you read the title, OP was asking for a specific carat size, which is no where near 3 carats. Tisa knew what she was doing.

bluecutie00 :  OP wanted a 1ct ring and is getting a 0.9ct ring. From the original post it seems most like OP wants to make sure that 0.9cts doesn’t look smaller than her desired look. Effectively asking if 0.9 will look similar to 1ct. Which is why she’s specifically asking for 0.9ct rings. 3cts is no where near what OP requested. Nor has she mentioned wanting an upgrade in the future.

bridesmaidnomore44 :   bumblebug :

An excerpt of OP’s original post saying that she couldn’t afford the ring size she wanted –  “I always wanted a 1 carat ring but it wasn’t in our budget” and for the price, the .9 stone looked much better than the 1 carat we could afford.

Tisa’s post commenting on how she initially couldn’t afford the ring size she wanted, but she upgraded later.

“you should be happy with what you can afford just think maybe after 5 or 10 years you can up grade my ring didnt start off this size any size diamond is beautiful so long as it is given to you with alot of love so have no doubts about your ring just love it like you love the one who gave it to you lots of luck”

OP didn’t mention whether or not she would upgrade in the future, but I don’t think that matters. What Tisa posted was not irrelevant, and not spiteful either imo. And didn’t warrant the attack she received above (not from you guys)

bluecutie00 :  I’m still not convinced that was the advice or feedback OP was looking for.

bluecutie00 :  First off, if you think me saying “not the right thread” was an attack, then you need to recalibrate a bit. And again, from OP’s specific request, she’s asked to see how 0.9ct rings look. If tisa had simply stated what  she said without posting her ring twice on this thread, then I’d maybe agree with you here. But instead it just turned into more of a brag. In a sense sounding like this conversation:

“Can I see what 0.9 ct rings look like”

“Here’s my 3ct ring. Maybe in 5-15 years you can get one as good as this too”.

It just doesn’t answer the request that OP made and thus is the wrong thread.

Now, on the other hand, if she had posted in any of the numerous, “show me your ring”, “show me your upgrade”, “show me your round stone”, “show me your sets”, “show me your curved bands”, etc threads then her response would have been totally appropriate.

As it stands, her response seems a little tone deaf. And I was simply pointing that out.

bluecutie00 :  I’ve noticed that you are doing a lot of policing on the threads lately, specifically in defense of one particular bee.  I would suggest that if you believe bee’s are going against TOS then to quietly flag for the mods to review.  What you are doing is actually encouraging the derailment of original threads which is against TOS.
