Bees – please show me before and after pictures of straps and/or keyhole back added to your strapless dress! I think I need a little more support and coverage (the back didn’t end up coming up as high as I thought it would once it was sized right – I am a plus size bride).
I am having a hard time visualizing a before and after for my dress.

I added a belt too! because why not lol. 😊 I believe the dress was a size 18.

Wow I love the added straps! …knowing I could do that makes me think I need to be more open to looking at strapless dresses

So, there is basically no way I can wear a gown without straps. No undergarment in the history of ever is capable of keeping the girls in place without them. I ended up choosing a gown that had straps and a closed back, but before that was basically planning on a bolero:
This one is $70 I think… It would be enough to hide straps, but still give a nice open back look. It’s also honestly really pretty, and possibly less than having straps made.
When I talked to my seamstress, she said that another option is to have the bolero sewn to the dress so that it’s all one peice, too.
Just another option to consider

Aw thank you!! 😀 The dress was some kind of Allure, and the straps were Essense of Australia. I had tried on another strapless dress where they put the separate straps on it (they had a whole rack of just straps and belts lol), and after I had purchased my own dress I kept thinking I could totally just put the straps on that they were suggesting for the other dress. I was really lucky the beading on the ones I purchased matched really well to the embroidery on my dress! It wasn’t as cheap as I was hoping to get the designer straps, but I couldn’t find anything that matched better! There are shops on Etsy, and I think I saw a few on eBay, who were just selling straps alone. My seamstress was a miracle worker and ended up putting the straps (and belt) on using clear snaps so they were still removable if I decided I wanted to switch it up last minute.
