I Love, love, love antique rings. I had originally found a 300 dollar morganite that I was crazy about, but my Fiance said heck no, and that he wants me to find a ring 10 times as much. Yikes. Ok, so I found this instead. It’s still half our budget, which is great for me, since I’m the one that balances the checkbook anyways, and everytime my 1 year old sees it on the screen, she goes “Oooooh”. So I think it’s a winner! I’m just concerned the diamond is too small and the setting won’t be able to support a larger one.
futuremrswh8616: Your ring is beautiful!
This was my Grandmother’s wedding ring. My Mom gave it to me on my wedding day.
katebirdy: yay! Finally have a ring twin! Showed Darling Husband ๐๐
snpmarin: I had a setting like this custom made and after having it made I decided I wanted a bigger diamond. The diamond had to be set up slightly higher but it did accomodate a stone with a 0.5 mm difference (0.25 ct. increase).
blushbliss: Awesome! I think that one’s center stone is about a half carat, so it’s not exactly tiny by any means, but I haven’t seen it on my finger yet. I used to have a size 4 finger, but I gained 40 pounds since then and I have no idea what it is now. My hands are still relatively petite though, thankfully. My thighs….not so much.
futuremrswh8616 : I learned from another post that these are called navette style rings, I’d always typed “oval or long oval” in my searches. Just posting in case that helps anyone else in the hunt for that perfect ring. โก Your ring is Gorgeous !!! He did very good! ๐
My mom’s set that got left to me when she passed away. I love this set because it’s hers and I wore it until it no longer fit.
Here is my 1 carat old mine cut cushion cut diamond ring in a buttercup setting custom made with my custom made mrs band from nora kogan! ๐
This is my 2.50 carat aquamarine ring from the 1930s. It’s 18k and there’s 0.18 carats of old cut diamonds in the setting, too!
And my most recent Etsy find was a 14k Art Nouveau Tiffany and Co. floral engraved band. I absolutely LOVE it!!!
I also have my grandmother’s wedding set from 1941. I wore the rings on my right hand on my wedding day, but to be honest I don’t wear them much on a regular basis. I unfortunately don’t know anything about the diamond specs, but they are super sparkly!
Ruby and diamond on 18k white gold. Vintage inspired. 2cttw
