@NovaRising: I just learned what a culet is lol… I liked the antique cuts but I kept seeing the hole and wondering if it was there because it was fake or not a diamond or something, and then I learned it is part of the cut…but I am worried some people may think the same as I did….what do you think?
@Nicole121212: I have a cushion cut and it does not have a cutlet. I’m going for an OEC for my 2nd ering and plan on using it as a moment to educate others. If someone is looking at my ring so closely that they notice the cutlet than were probably discussing my ring. At that moment I’ll let them know what cut it is and tell them that older cuts had culets to them. No biggie…honestly no one pays attention to your ring as much as you do or women engaged or newly married. I’ve only discussed my cut with two people, my sister and my friend who’s getting married two months after me. Everyone else says how beautiful it is but no one ask questions or pays that much attention to it.
Luckily I just got an email back from Chris at Ashadiamonds that this batch of ACC have pretty small culets, so I am going to take the leap and put the ACC in this setting:
and on the Asha site it lets me upgrade to Diamond sidestones, so I am going to do that… :)))) super excited right now lol
@Odyssey: yay for that :). that was what made me definitely go with it.. I dont like warmth and I am sensitive to color, but I dont want it super duper white and screaming it is not a diamond lol… because I am getting a larger ct so larger ct + near colorless + $$$$$ that people know I don’t have that kind of money
curious… the side stones are G diamonds… and the ACC is I…but I have heard that the colors on Asha are actually whiter/less warm then what they are labeled?
I’m bored so here are some pics I took of my ring indoors while I should be working.
