I’m frrrrreeaking out trying to figure out the best way to organise all of the thrifted clothing I’m buying in prep for my baby arriving in March. I have read every single blog post ever written and they’ve all got good ideas, but I can’t figure out what will be best for us. There is the problem of clothing being so similar in size…among other problems I’m inventing for myself in my hormone induced nesting frenzy…
Right now I’m thinking: put out only newborn folded all together on one little shelf, and 3m on the next shelf so we can see what is available. Hang all jammies from smallest to biggest sizes (but where do I put the size divider so Darling Husband or I doesn’t start trying everything and making needless laundry piles by choosing older size items). Then put Mid size (6-9) and (9m-3years: I only have like one or two things for past 1y) in two plastic drawers…just organized by size.
I worry I risk missing an item this way and mid and big sizes are not so different…I’ve read about people forgetting what they have, but maybe this can be solved by looking every month…
I imagine it will be a bit easier to understand when I actually have a baby filling the clothes, but for now I do want to have a sort of system.
I feel like storing the outgrown things will be less of a headache, as soon as it’s too small it can go in a bin and get washed and packed away. It’s harder when nothing is outgrown and it’s all inventory for future use!
So…show me a pic, or detail your system for your itty bitty babies!
I have this wardrobe for now…not a big fan, but it’ll do:
And this too:
I crave your wise words 🙂
