I’m going to spam you with ballgown here

Here’s my ballgown (I’m 5’1” standing with no shoes and standing on a pedestals here)

Private Label: Sophia and Camilla original price $1200, but I bought the sample for $599.

It comes with spaghetti straps, but I’m meeting with the seamstress to add some cap/small sleeves to it, or at least a halter.

This is another dress i own but am not going to wear. It’s Vera Wang White. Originally $1500 but I bought it at $499 (ignore the bra straps)

This is the one I tried with long sleeves which I think is beautiful, but I thought made me look matronly.

House of Mooshki – exact cost was somewhere between $4-5k

Sorry for the many dresses. Hope this helped!

I don’t post photos of myself here, but here is my Rosa Clara. It was $2,300. It has pockets and a removable train.

willowrose15 :

I absolutely  looove  the  floral gown  you chose. I can see it with spaghetti straps , or a  wide halter strap , but idk about cap sleeves …. ( not  that it’s anything to do with me of course ! )  You will   have material to use from shortening I guess ?

I liked your ‘matronly’ (NOT) one too .

elderbee :  thank you!

It was exquisitely made with an inner corset; I did not have to pull it up once, nor did I need a bra. It was also super comfortable. I think Rosa Clara is vastly underrated.

elderbee : thank you so much 🙂 I’m so in love with it, I try to show it off wherever I can!

cap sleeves might be too bulky for the dress, my mom is a huge fan of them, so I’m keeping an open mind for her. We’re going to experiment with the material left over. I will have a good chunk of material after shortening as the dress fits someone with a length of nearly 6’ while I will be maybe 5’5” with my heels. (Which is a lot, but it’s not) If not it doesn’t work, spaghetti straps it is.

zl27 :  Rosa Clara has such beautiful dresses! I agree she’s definitely underrated!  and hey both our dresses have pockets 😉

This is mine so far but I’m worried that it is too big for a mirco wedding. It had 3D applique that still needs tacking. In the pics, I choose the brown belt, but I’m wearing a white belt in another pic.

Eta: this is Anya Bridal Flora, their version of Justin Alexander 8583, I think. Cost was normally over $1,000, but I got it for $7-800. I can’t remember now the exact price.

I didn’t buy it from Nordstrom, but it’s sold there! Haven’t work it yet.

Mine is a Ronald Joyce by Victoria Jane Graziella dress. Bought it off ebay, pre-owned for ~£200. An older model obviously but I love it. Can’t wait for next year!

anna19 :  certain places/designers will let you add sleeves/strap (usually an upcharge) so if there is a strapless gown you love, see if there is a way to add them.
