SellyJo:  Mine was about $800 after tax.  I originally was looking for off the rack so I could find a bargain, but was surprised by the inexpensive dresses I found at a bridal shop.

i paid $131 for this dress on a sample sale. I’ll need to spot clean and steam it and get a slight hem. Still should be less than $500!

I was given a dress with tags on for free.. so that would have been a bargain if I had chosen to wear it.   I kept wanting to redesign it and spent so many hours dreaming and playing with it that it was stressing me out and taking too much of my precious time.

I ended up splurging for a Casablanca 1975 gown new with tags on pre-owned wedding site for $350-400 less than the retail price that my local shops were selling the dress for (and they gave me a 15 percent markdown if I wanted to purchase the sample since it fitted me perfectly).  Still expensive and not as a deep bargain but I am happy I got it for less. It was never even removed from the packaging when the original owner received it. It is a little long on me but I plan on making a detachable ruffled cap sleeves using the material cut from hemming.  On the bright side, I do not need any slip or petticoat with this dress and I already have nice shoes and jewelry to go with it.

The BHLDN dress I was obsessed with! They marked it down to $600 from $1000! I am so excited to wear it in November for our wedding πŸ™‚

My dress, originally $600, was on the clearance rack at David’s Bridal; I got it for $450! Alterations and underthings (slip and bra/girdle) have yet to be done to it, so that cost will go up some, but still a bargain!

Just under $800 with tax! I’m a HUGE fan of David’s Bridal and the fact that they carry actual sizes! It save tons on alterations (a friend of mine had to pay $600 in addition to her $3000 dress) and you get to see how each dress really fits!

i love all the great deals! So nice for so many brides to get to have amazing dresses even with right budgets (or me who had a big budget but appearently way to cheap!)

This is a terrible picture. Future Sister-In-Law snuck a pic bc salon didn’t allow pictures even after we said we were going to get the dress. Regular $1400. My moms calculator is in the pic.. It was 50% off bringing it to $669. Got my dress, veil, headpiece for $900!!

alliesoontobeR:  Your gown is so unique! I love it, I especially love the detailing around the top πŸ™‚ Did you add the lace, or was it part of the original dress?

rachel85:  Everything on the dress was original. πŸ™‚ The lace is what sold me on the dress…I love the lace-y illusion back and sleeves!

My dress was $215 with tax and since I had it made through etsy, I don’t need *much* alterations. Here is the link to the etsy site
