My engagement ring is being reset with bezel set sidestones (it lost one of the sidestones within the first month of me getting it– prongs + marquis suck!). It’s supposed to get here tomorrow! The center stone will have double-prongs, but I will still definitely post pictures when I get it! 😉

fuchsia1027:  you asked for it! I am team bezel all the way. For me they are the perfect blend of modern and vintage (bezel setting were actually the first way to set gems).  I had a four prong first and I love that the bezel sits lower, doesn’t snag or scratch anything and it makes me feel like my diamond is super secure, because it is! Safest setting there is. I got an open basket to let light in and added milgrain for a touch of vintage.

Are you thinkin about getting a bezel?

fuchsia1027:  I actually had it made custom from a local family owned jeweler in Northern California. I looked around a lot and ended up getting it made and set for only $300 which was a great deal!

I actually think this bezel made my diamond (.75) look bigger too! But some people think bezels do the opposite.

Bypass bezel with 0.5 ct diamond. It is my original ering that I got 12 years ago. We recently upgraded my set but I can’t part with my bezel, so I wear it as RHR pretty much every day 😊

I like prong settings and have a couple of those, but I just LOVE bezels. They are generally so comfortable and easy to wear, and clean looking. They really can be either modern or vintage, as it is a very old setting style, but also used currently! All sort of depends on the ring.

I’d say my one below is more “organic/modern”:

This vintage reproduction ring below (cast from an old mold) is not really a bezel, more of “cup” but the prongs are teeny and the stone is pretty set in to the cup so it kind of looks (and wears) like a bezel. Also very comfortable and easy to wear:

Profile view to see how it is really close to being a bezel!:

Also, I have an actual antique ring from the early 1900s on the way that also has a bezel set centre stone and surrounding stones.

Mrs.Fay:  I love when people set both those shapes going that direction (east west?) so unique and beautiful!
