My BF and I have been talking a lot about rings. He asked about using a blue sapphire for a center stone instead of a diamond for something different. I think they are beautiful. It seems as though some are getting away from diamonds and using other stones. I’d love to see your rings. What are your thoughts, opionions?

I absolutely love blue sapphires. My mom upgraded to a sapphire for her 15th anniversary ring a good 15 years ago now, and my e-ring is a blue sapphire too.

I love my sapphire 💙 they come in every colour, blue is just the most popular. I’m a huge fan of hexagon shaped ones also.

I love sapphires! Mine is more of a lighter blue. It’s an ice or Montana blue sapphire!

Sapphires and rubies (both corundum) have always been popular for engagement rings. Aside from being beautiful and having a wide range of colors, corundum is a hard stone and can stand up to daily wear. I love blue sapphires but padparadscha sapphires are my favorite. But here is my blue, 3+ carat from Kashmir. The only drawback of sapphires is that they face up smaller than diamond due to the density of corundum.

This is is a blue sapphire halo I tried on when ring shopping! The top is also a sapphire but in peach. I believe the lowest is a Morganite

Love love love my blue sapphire! I feel it has so much character and each stone is visibly unique. Plus I love the bright color! All of these are indoors in natural lighting.

Forgot I still have a photo of the final 2 stones I was deciding between. Eye candy! Again, indoor but natural lighting.

Here is a better photo of my ring in outdoor light:
