Are you having a bridal portrait displayed at your wedding? I wasn’t sure about doing it, but my mom really wanted me to. Of course now I have a giant picture of me sitting at our apartment that I’m not sure what to do with…displaying a huge portrait of just me in our home seems a little odd. Maybe I can convince the husband to hang it up in his office at work :p
Here’s mine; I’d love to see everyone elses and hear what you plan on doing with it after your wedding.
This was my runner up, I liked it because it showed off my boots and was a little less “dramatic” but the other one did a better job showing off my dress

You’re right, the first one is dramatic but I just love your dress so much and it shows it off so beautifully! I’d love to see more! I’m trying to decide on bridal portraits myself. How large is the picture you had at the wedding?

That first photo is stunning! Here’s one of mine that i’ve gotten a sneak peek of! Not sure if I”ll display any in my house, but i’ll make a nice album with them!

These are my favourite two, we had two weddings if you are wondering why I’m in two different dresses.

I’m a fan of more artsy shots. @Aggie10, love the drama of your first shot

Okay, i think I’m confused about bridal portraits, maybe someone can help. When are you supposed to have these done? I always thought it was just a portion of the wedding day photoshoot, but apparently you must have these done before the wedding if you are displaying it at the wedding. When do people generally have bridal portraits taken?
Not doing a bridal portrait. But we are using a photo of us for the ‘guestbook’ and then switching out the picture after the wedding for a wedding pic and then hanging it in our house.
Nope, no bridal portraits at our wedding. Come to think of it, I’ve never been to a wedding where I saw one.
That first shot is amazing. Definitely shows off that stunning dress and train.
Of course now I have a giant picture of me sitting at our apartment that I’m not sure what to do with…displaying a huge portrait of just me in our home seems a little odd.
Haha, I get you on this one. I mean, I absolutely loved how my individual portraits turned out, but I’d feel a little silly having them displayed in our home. I might keep a small canvas print in my home office/craft room as a reminder of how much I LOVED the way I looked on my wedding day, but certainly not in a massive heirloom frame above our mantle or anything lol.
That second photo is so beautiful.
Yes, a lot of brides have their own indivdiual bridal portrait session prior to the wedding – kind of as insurance, to guarantee you get the best photos possible in your wedding dress and makeup/hair, since you may not have the luxury of time on your wedding day.

This was mine. I chose it because it showed my face, too.
Here’s one of my runners up. I LOVE this picture, but I wanted my face to be visible.
I also now have the canvas and feel a bit silly about it. I’ll feel better once we’ve hung up some pictures of the two of us, but we can’t afford those right now. Oh well…
