I knew I wanted my girls in long, rose gold sequined gowns. I told my maid of honor she could choose something blush if she wanted and she ended up in a dress that was half rose gold sequined and half blush chiffon.
For my bridesmaids, I found about 10 dresses on Etsy and Amazon and asked them to pick which one they’d like. They ranged from $165-$79 and all looked gorgeous!! Two girls ended up in the same dress, but otherwise they were mismatched and I adored the look.

I had all of my girls wear the same dress except my maid of honor had a problem hers last minute and she ended up with a different dress. I wish I would have let them all pick their own dresses. The problem with the maid of honor was that she wasn’t honest with me about how she felt in the dress. She hated in the day we went shopping, but she didn’t tell me that. She ordered it two sizes up because it didn’t hit properly in her hips or thighs. It ended up being way too big in the size up everywhere else so the seamstress tried to fix it, but it didn’t work. I could have avoided this problem if she had been honest or if I had just let them pick their own style.

I had my 6 bridesmaids wear black, floor or tea length dresses of their choice – and it worked out fantastic! I think they all opted to buy a new dress (a few did Rent the Runway, the rest bought online), but I wanted them all to be able to either use something already in their closet or purchase something they would wear again (and within any budget). I also wanted each person to feel comfortable and beautiful in their choice!
