    I know not the answers to any of your questions, because my cake was included with the venue.  BUT, a pic of my cake!  We picked vanilla coconut and chocolate hazelnut.

    Well, were going with Cupcakes and a mini cake (that looks like a giant cup cake!) Cupcakes work best for us because Future Mother-In-Law is allergic to chocolate and I’m in love with chocolate. (and i love cupcakes too!)

    Here’s a few of our inspiration shots. Our bakery quoted us about $200 for 60 cupcakes and 1 mini cake, give or take $50 depending on how fancy we want the icing and if we want suger flowers etc. 

     

    Edited to say: Forgot to mention that we’re also mixing mini and reg sized cupcakes (like the bottom pic) for the kids and older people who can’t eat a whole cupcake.  Also since our buffet option comes with a few deserts as wel, this seemed like a smart option, and also lowered the overall cost.

    Mine will be $575 with taxes!  A little more than I thought I would spend.

    It will pretty much look like this, but with 3 layers.  The cake itself was $3.50 per person (100 person cake).  But each sugar peony is $30 each (I have 3).  The rest of the cost is just filling ($40) and taxes.

    I had a lady that does cakes as a hobby make ours. It cost $300 and was enough for 250 people I believe. Considering we had like 120 guests, that was more then enough. It was delicious, chocolate with a strawberry filling and a whipped topping. People went back for seconds. We were on a tight budget since we were paying for everything ourselves pretty much so I really had to put my shopping skills to work! It was not anything fancy, but the cake wasn’t that important to me as long as it tasted good.

    Ours was around $500 for 3 tiers (us keeping the top tier) and two full and 1/4 sheet cakes. We fed 135 people and had the quater sheet cake left. A lot of our guests had mentioned they loved our cake and had seconds to try other flavors so it really went a lot further than the baker said it would.  

    I didn’t like the look of more than 3 tiers, hence the sheet cakes in the back.  Plus, our baker was amazing and we wanted to have as many yummy flavors as we could get.

    This will be ours. Its Mario Lopez cake. There will be some differences though. At the bottom, instead of the satin drap look, it will be all flowers at the bottom. The flowers at the top will be hydrangas and roses.

    This is my cake inspiration picture but its already been arranged with the cake maker so I thought I’d share the details. 

    It’s Buttercream Shabby sheek. It will be just buttercream frosting, no fondant, (the Fiance wouldn’t let us because he doesnt like it!) It will be red velvet, 3 tiers, and is suppose to feed 100. It will be $350 including delivery and set up. If we had chosen fondant it would have been about $100 more!

    Oh and I forgot to mention that doesn’t include the flowers, we will provide her with real ones.

    @EffieTrinket: $2 per person and fed 300 people ($600 total) every other layer was chocolate with raspberry mouse and the other layers cannoli. I was actually really upset because it turned out NOTHING like how I wanted BUT no one even cared what it looked like because to this day they keep talking about how amazing it tasted 😛

    Wow I feel super ripped off…..We are getting tiramisu torte. It was amazingly delicious at the tasting and no one else in the area had something like it. 100% made from scratch by old school Italian ladies. All the piping we want is included in it, along with delivery. I think it was $3-4 a piece and we are getting it done for around 180 people I think.

    Our cake was made by a friend of ours, so it only cost about $100 in supplies (+ pans etc, probably another 50-75). We also had five or six sheet cakes, and together they fed about 275 guests. It is birthday cake and lilikoi, and our sheet cakes were assorted flavors selected by my dad and grandfather who wanted to eat the leftovers 🙂

    We had cupcakes. And not cupcakes that pretended to be cake (in a tower formation), just a long table  with cake stands and of a bunch of different kinds of cupcakes. It was amazing!
