This is picture of mine but tweaking it a bit..bottom layer will be choc mud, top tier white choc cake, the icing around will be white choc instead of dark and the choc flowers will be calla lillies to match the bouquets….although our lady said she can do the flowers the same colour as our bouquets too which are red/yellow…so that could look pretty cool too…still debating on which one we’ll go with. I love the roughness of how the icing looks too….i don’t like some things too perfect and smooth looking..love this!

This is our inspiration, though we need 5 tiers, so we will have 4 tiers on display and a cake sheet in the kitchen. We’ll also be changing the flowers to match my bouquet.

@Ana in NZ: Oh my goodness, I am salivating over your cake now. Seriously, I could dig into that right now and be the happiest person on earth. If I were a guest at your wedding and walked in to see that cake, I’d be counting down the seconds until it was cake time. Great choice!

I also did a sketch, although it’s not very neat..i did it on MS Paint…before I got My Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator (sorry for the size too)
I named it Michaela for sentimental reasons, is that wierd?

Tier 4: Heart filigrees, Stripes, Band
Pearl and Gold Bead Accents, Gold Cake Stand (didnt’ show that cuz don’t know what kind yet)
It could be white on white, white on cream, gold on ivory….haven’t a clue.

@Meowkers: I love your dessert/berry bar! I definitely think that’s the route I want to go. SO is NOT a fan of cake. And, by offering a dessert bar, different people will get their fill. Did you have a symbolic cake for cutting?

I love cake and couldn’t decide between traditional wedding cake or cupcakes so we went for a combination. I also had a (hopefully not too over the top) rainbow theme. The ‘normal’ cakes were tradtional fruit (top and bottom tiers, made by my gran!), chocolate, and jam sponge (middle tiers). The cupcakes were lemon, chocolate, and vanilla with jam. Our cake lady did a fab job and didn’t mind that my gran wanted to make some of it too! The topper was from our florist and was meant to match my bouquet but in the end it didn’t seem to be as multicoloured as my bouquet. Oh well – it all tasted great!
