kittycatpancake:  spray a bitter apple spray (can get it at any pet store) on the tree, cats hate the smell and will leave it alone.  I have 3 cats and have had many poor charlie brown christmas trees. lol

oooh I can’t wait to put ours up on friday! If I had it my way I would do it way earlier ๐Ÿ™‚ For the last three years I’ve been doing purple lights and lime green garland, but this year I’ve promised SO multi colored lights to switch it up.

We made a tree out of lights this year, I love it! We collect ornaments from places we’ve been, so none of them match.

We just put ours up! Ours is tall and skinny because we don’t have much space. Ours is basically a mix of a bunch of random ornaments…but many of them are meaningful. I like it when trees are filled with memories!

This is ours. no rhyme or reason, just ornaments that have some sort of sentimental meaning.

We are putting ours up this weekend. I am doing a peacock tree this year, so teal, purple and green. Not sure how long it will last with a curious toddler though.

DH put up our outside lights last weekend and we got a few strange looks from the neighbours! Certainly the first in our village with lights up.

We haven’t gotten our tree yet but this is a pic of last years. We got the lights that switch between white and colored because we like both and couldn’t choose. The ornaments are red, green, and gold. I definitely prefer matchy-matchy.
