With an H stone, you still won’t really see color (if at all).  I think there is the tiniest, tiniest, tiniessssssssssst difference between G and H.  Since I’m impatient, I’d go ahead and get the H πŸ˜‰

I really like your new set, by the way.  I’m just *in love* with your plain wedding band.  It looks perfect on you.  Is your princess 1 ct???? It so, holy cow, that looks HUGE on you!

I have a G colored diamond but I saw it next to an H and it looked the same in color. They said it’s because my ring is only 1 ct and you don’t notice the color as much until you get up over 1 ct.

@Sweet.Sugar.Rose: the diamond colour scale ranges from D-Z.  D being the best or colourless.  Z being very yellow.  Rarely do you see an engagement ring with anything past a J colour.  That’s when you visually really start to notice a more yellowing tint in the diamond to where it is no longer attractive.  your jeweller should be able to show you with other diamonds in stock the colour ranges.

that being said, you won’t notice much difference between the G and the H.  the H colour diamond will also be a bit cheaper than the G as the colour is one of the factors that determine the value.  don’t have them substitute an H for the G without a price reduction.

check out the colour chart here:

good luck!  can’t wait to see your ring!

@BoiledPNut: That’s what I was thinking!

Here’s mine. It’s an H. You’re probably getting sick of seeing it. πŸ™‚

It may not help cuz the diamond’s smaller, but I can’t see color. I saw it in the store next to a G, and couldn’t tell the difference.
