My Montana sapphire that MH and I dug up in Philipsburg MT on our cross country move. It will be a RHR but for now it’s my stand in until I get a new diamond.  It’s a .88 ct in 18k

KellyB262 :  ya it’s GemMountianMT. We spent a day diging/sifting and got around 350 carats of sapphire. We sent 10 or so to be heat treated and cut.  It took around 6 months.

Sweet.Sugar.Rose :  it’s was $25ish to heat and $100 per finished carat weight cut in the US. So around $125 It was a 4is carat stone and ended up under one.  We spent around $400 in mining and $400 in heating and cutting a bunch of stones.

I also got this one cut over seas. It’s a 1.06 cushion but with huge feather so I made it into a necklace. It was like $25 to get it cut over seas so this one was around $50 to heat and cut.

NEAM2014 :  I love your MT sapphire. It’s such a pretty color. I wanted to go there to dig for stones, but I couldn’t get my family on board with the idea. I think I’ll keep trying, though. It sounds like so much fun.

This is my original ering, 2 ct rose cut moonstone in a lotus leaf setting by Hearts of Water. It’s such a gorgeous and special ring, but due to the setting being high and it not matching a lot of my clothes I retired it and now wear a moissanite solitaire. I really should start wearing it as a RHR when I go out!
