desertgypsy :  Pinterest mostly. Then I would go to Target and print them up like photos through their little kiosk.

I also spent an inordinate amount of time at the craft store in the scrapbooking aisles. Stickers, glittery letters, patterned paper to print on.

When I was hospitalized those coloring books were a godsend; I was too hopped up on morphine to do crosswords. They kept me entertained without demanding complete focus. Hodie and I like to buy the big posters and color them together and listen to 70’s stoner rock. Quality bonding time.

Wow, what talented ladies! Very lovely!

My craft that I’ve since given up was making dreaded wigs:

Bees, there is some amazing talent here!! ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ I can’t quilt, knit or crotchet. I have dabbled in cross stitch before, and when we settle into our new home I will *hopefully* finish the beginners babushka doll pattern I started two years ago haha!

Anyway, I am currently dabbling in flower arranging (not wedding related) and point perspectives.

Love seeing all these crafty bits! Makes me want to try out something different! So jealous of people who can paint or draw though!

desertgypsy :  not decided yet whether I will stick them into some polystyrene or just hold all the stems together and wrap up. Bought some floral foam but since have read it is very toxic and shouldn’t be touched by hands so feel that’s out the window. They all have floral wire as stems so quite movable ๐Ÿ™‚ doing charity shops at the minute to find sparkly beads/earrings etc to have in the middle or the flowers ๐Ÿ™‚

I do a little bit of everything! Lately it’s been mostly working with beads and cut outs, because that doesn’t need a lot of room or prep time. I’ve also finally figured out how to quilt without special equipment, but I’m still on my first quilt so  nothing to show there.

And I have no idea why everything is uploading sideways… sorry!

I have no artistic ability (I cook, but that’s about it) but I had to stop by here and say how cool this thread was. Its easy to see someone for more than a username and occasional post but I love the extra layer this adds to how you see a person online. There is so much talent here!!!

desertgypsy :  Etsy! It’s a great source for patterns, particularly if you’re into modern cross stitch. There’s a r/crossstitch reddit sub as well that is full of gen-x/millennial stitchers which is great for pattern inspo too (:

I’ve been trying needlefelting.  I only make hearts now, but you can make many things with this hobby.  There are lots of tutorials on YouTube.  Problem is, idk what to do with all the hearts I make lol.

squishee :  those would make awesome baby/child’s room decorations if you connected them loosely with felt, as wall hangings, layer them up etc etc. So cute!
