I recently ordered a $30 CZ ring because I wanted to see what a 3-stone ring would look like on my hand. I tried it out with a CZ wedding band that I own.

Your rings are all very lovely! Good for you saving money. I’m wondering how the actual CZ is holding up over time. They used to get cloudy and frayed facets. I’ve heard they are better these days. I own diamonds, lab diamonds and moissy but I am hesitant of the CZ only because of the cloudiness.

I have many CZ rings. I don’t think they deserve their bad reputation at all. I have one that is over 15 years old and still sparks. Some of these rings are white gold and others are sterling silver. Sterling silver doesn’t deserve it’s bad reputation either. It doesn’t tarnish if you wear it frequently. And even if you don’t and it tarnishes, you can easily clean it at home. In fact, I don’t think I will be buying many white gold things in the future. White gold doesn’t exist in nature, it’s an alloy, an overtime it turns yellow – and you can’t fix that at home!

If I was living in USA, where you seem to have a big culture of upgrading rings over time, having multiple sets, etc, I would definitely consider CZ for the engagement ring too.

The eternity ring below is over 15 years old. The metal is white gold, that’s why is going yellow.

I have a pair of cz earrings and they look identical to an ex/ex/ex GIA MRB I have, at least in indoor lighting (haven’t looked at them outside). I have felt a bit silly spending thousands of dollars on this thing that looks exactly the same as something that cost $50. But it’s also silly that I spent money on either of these things because I just don’t really like them!

I think the main issue with cz rings is the settings they come in often  aren’t particularly well-made and that’s what makes them look off. Of course, you can put it in a nice setting, I just don’t think many people do. And with earrings, they are typically in metals that irritate me.
