My nail polish is a few days old. And my nails are shorter than it usually is from all the house work I’ve been doing. But I still like the design, I might do it again in the future.

TheGridMonster:  Thanks! I am enjoying it way more than I thought I would, considering my reservations about red, in general. It is a really good holiday color.

Love these ideas, as I am hoping to get mine done next week. I’m debating between a shimmery red or something like the dark red that almost looks brown.

I posted this silly on my instagram to show my SIL that I can paint with my left hand like a pro too! Haha. Base is Stormy by Revlon. Then for the leopard spots I used a nude from Forever 21 and the Navy is OPI (i think)

Here’s an up close

All your nails are so beautiful!!! We just got engaged on the weekend so I’m going for a manicure today because I know everyone is going to be asking to see the ring…but I can’t decide on the colour! I’m torn between getting “christmas colours” like red and gold, or doing my classic light pink. Decisions!

Right now, I’m loving black nail polish with my diamond engagement ring.

And with my new wedding set, a morganite rose gold set), I’m loving soft pink nail polish. Don’t have a picture unfortunately.

Finally decided on these! It’s actually navy, though it looks black in the pics. Love it!

longtimemrs:  Oh my gosh, I just found this and am dying to try it for the holidays, but it’s an old post so I don’t think these polishes are still available. Hence this longtimemrs bat signal haha. Do you know of any good dupes for the nude and the gold? (sorry to bug you, but you’re such an expert!)

longtimemrs:  One more question for you! (I’m so annoying, I’m sorry)

I have about 1/3 of my bottle of Bubble Bath left, but it’s super hard now to get polish on the brush because the polish level is so low — is there a trick to getting easy access? I feel like there’s still alot in there but I can barely reach any of it. Thanks again for any tips!! 🙂

I did a very light nude pink color, with pink/gold glitter 🙂 I think it compliments my ring!

TheGridMonster:  OK, gal! I have some ideas for polish colors you can try. I did some internet searching, both for the colors on the link you posted (didn’t find them at all, so they are probably discontinued.) … and for possible dupes.

Apologies for a bit of a picture overload … Also, NONE of these pictures are mine, as you can see from the watermarks. I just saved them off of the internet. PolishAholic, in particular, is one of my favorite nail blogs, with All Lacqurered Up running a close second.

Possible dupes for the SH Cafe Au Lait:

Essie: Spin the Bottle

Essie: Topless and Barefoot

OPI: Don’t Bossa Nova Me Around

OPI: Tiramisu for Two

Possible Dupes for the Sephora Gold:

China Glaze: Solar Flare (an older polish, but I did find it available on Amazon)

Deborah Lippmann: Boom Pow

Milani: Gold Jewel

Sally Girl: Chunky Gold Glitter

SpaRitual: Soul

As for getting the polish out of the very bottom of your bottle … I am not sure I have any great advice. As you get to the end of the bottle, the polish becomes a bit thicker and harder to work with. I think you can use a little bit of thinner with it (Like Seche Restore, which another Bee told me about  a little while ago). I think the thinner should restore some of the polish’s previous texture and make it easier to work with. Some of the nail blogs online also mention putting a few drops of remover (used very sparingly) into the bottle, too. But sticking remover in with polish doesn’t feel like a good idea to me. I’ve never tried it, so I don’t know if it works.
