Not sure if I’ve ever commented on your ring, but I’ve certainly noticed it! Can I just say that it is the most unique, beautiful creation I’ve ever seen? Because it is the most unique, beautiful creation I’ve ever seen!
I wish you would do an entire post just for your ring. Complete with photos galore, of course. Why did you and/or your Fiance decide on the dragonfly? How did you find the jeweller who made the setting, and where did you discover the gorgeous sapphire?

Thank you :). I love them too.
The dragonfly setting is one that Krikawa had made before and I always loved it. I just wanted the wings more realistic. I actually felt it was too expensive but my fiance wasnt hearing my arguing and showings of other settings. Dragonflies have been really special since my grandmother passed about 6 years ago. When I’m sad, or upset I go for a walk or run and I see one I feel instantly calm. My fiance as a child had always been facinated by them. He had a lot of childhood memories of going to a park where he grew up and seeing them in the summer (he actually proposed in this very park on a trip home with him over the summer). He has become my rock in my best and worst times so he felt this setting was very symbolic of us.
The sapphire was actually one that the jeweler had in stock. We had sent a similair stone cut as a round brilliant with a higher degree of color change to them, but it turned out to have a fracture in it that wasnt going to work with this setting. I was extremely distraught over this which distressed my fiance and he wanted the ring set ASAP. We decided to look at their inventory online and I liked this one. So he had them send a list of their inventory and I liked the photos of this one again, but was sad because it wasnt color change or so we thought. Turned out it was the opposite color change of the original one held more purples than greens. The jeweler didnt even know until they took it to mail it and they emailed us telling us it too was a color shifter so take it outside and look. I also had really loved the cut of the Larry Woods stones for a while so it was pretty exciting to actually not just get my dream setting, have it have meaning to us, but to also get my dream stone in my dream cut.
I have to say that Krikawa does a lot of very unique settings so if you’re looking they are amazing. They do most of their business from afar and have really great customer service. The sent the second stone to us overnight for us to inspect. When they had issues with the stone they sent us photos of it magnified 1000 times. When they had casting issues they told us. They were honest, open, and wonderful through the entire proccess. They will be making my matching wedding band this summer :). I’m super excited and I know its going to be hard for me to spend 4-5 months looking at it not on my finger.

He didn’t make it but he designed with Rita Ward at Lyle Husar Designs
. She is award winning and a doll to work with. In fact, my FI’s whole family has gotten stuff from there for quite some time, as well.

I wanted a harry Winston, but didn’t want to pay for it! So I gave our jeweler all of the HW pics I could find and he custom made my ring!
