I’m currently having my dress made through someone one etsy. It’ll be done in about a month or two.. so I unfortunately don’t have any reviews or pictures yet. She’s been super nice and friendly and I talked to a lot of people she had made dresses for.

I feel terrible posting this pic more than once.  I feel like such a dress whore…lol.  Anyway, I had mine made by a seamstress.  I like this pic because you can see the blue satin underneath.  Here is the back (she had pinned it for alterations just a bit, but you get the idea).  I based it on Jim Hjelm 8663, different back and it is more fit to flare than the original.

@daniellerenee85: Who are you having your dress made by? I am having a dress made by Angels Bridal on etsy but considered a few others. It’s pretty scary having a dress made by someone across the country, but she had such wonderful reviews and her work is gorgeous! You should be sure to post pictures when you get your dress!

@mckernae: AtelierTAMI is who is making my dress. I was nervous about it at first, but I contacted so many people that she made dresses for and they all had nothing but wonderful things to say. I actually talk to Tami quite a bit and she is a sweet as can be!! I’ll definitely post pictures if it when I get it!

@daniellerenee85: I almost had my dress made by Tami! She was SUCH a sweetheart. The only reason I didn’t is that I wasn’t sure how the duties for shipping from Greece would work out and there were fewer pics of  dresses that she’d made up online (the seller of Angels Bridal used to have an etsy shop called Your Fairy Tale Wedding, and that had TONS of reviews and pics up). It basically came down to a coin toss for me, though. Do you mind sharing what type of dress you’re having made? It’s all very exciting and I love the idea of having a dress made specially for me while supporting a designer in the process.

@mckernae: LOL! It was a toss up between those two for me, too, and I ended up going with Tami. She had sent me pictures through messages that she did there in Greece through her shop she owns. I’m actually having it inspired by the Michelle Roth Maya dress. Here’s a picture of it. She’s making it floor length and also adding a brown sash/bow around the waist. She’s also making me a tiffany blue crinoline to wear underneath it.

She’s actually making my bridesmaids dresses, too, because I found a style I loved (but wanted a few changes made to it) but they didn’t make them in my wedding colors.. so I drew up a sketch that she is going to make for me. Here’s that:
