I didn’t get any CADs but here is my wax model and then the finished ring, definitely ended up being much more delicate!

newbeegirl :  love your ring!  What does the side profile look like?

I have a similar shaped band and stone and I have been considering having the band made a little thinner.  And your ring is now inspired me!

Im actually having mine remade after a year, my current design is just a bit more architectural than I want and it doesn’t allow for a wedding band to sit well with it. I suggest wearing the mold around the house and with whatever band you plan to wear, my band was eating into the vtip prongs because it was set too low

This is is my new one that I requested a few more changes to after I got the mold

sharpshooter :  Thanks ☺️ It’s a 1.8mm band and although I thought I wanted a rounded band I actually have grown to love it more squared off since it’s different from my engagement ring and I wanted variety in my rings!

What does your ring look like? 🙂

Here is the original design (sketch by metalsmith, then rendering):

Here is an in-progress shot, I got so many progress photos and videos along the way:

and this is the finished ring.   I need to get it out from where it’s hidden and take better pictures….  I am waiting until the weather is perfect in a few months to do an official proposal to my girlfriend: so better pictures then, for sure.

Blushingbride2020 :  I have never snagged or hit it on anything but my mother in law (original owner) did break one of the tips and the diamond had to be recut. It was something like 7-8 carats and it is now 4.6, so it did lose a significant amount. I am not sure what her setting was like but I would suggest doing v tip prongs instead of peg prongs on the end just to add some extra protection to the tips. I also don’t wear my ring inside the house where I’m doing a lot of hand labor, they come off the minute I get home

Designing a custom ring is a fun and stressful process, but I’m happy with how mine turned out😃
