I love the idea of creating a custom wedding guest book using our engagement photos where guests write in the white space around the photos, but I don’t know anyone who has actually done this. I would love to see some pages from ones created by real brides on here and also know how the idea went over with your guests.

I am planning on doing this as well. My fiance made me a photo book for Christmas on iPhoto and it was amazing. I definately recommend using them to print as it was inexpensive and professional looking. My parents couldn’t believe that he had made it!

I want to do this too for our guest book! A girl at my work did it and it came out great! Plus, besides the Save-The-Dates, what else are you going to use those engagement photos for?

@SavBride: sorry they are a bit blurry, i took them with my phone. Here’s the cover:

And some of the inner pages

They have fun pages like mad libs and ones like the one above, or simple pages with just lines for guests to sign. Plus if you wait til they go on sale you can save a lot. I ended up paying $18 for ours including shipping.

@Chapssstick: I love it!!! Thanks for sharing! Yours turned out beautifully! Initially, I wanted to do the signed frame but several of my married friends cautioned me that in ten years, I won’t want a signed wedding picture hanging in my living room. I figured that a traditional wedding guest book will just get packed away. This I love because we can always use it as a coffee table book…what great memories!

@SavBride: Thanks! that’s exactly why I wanted to do one as well. I always thought that guestbooks were boring but this is more like a year book.
Also, it wasn’t snapfish, it was shutterfly. sorry I got them confused!

@Chapssstick: Your book is great! Were the pages glossy and easy to sign on? I am afraid of ink spreading all over the place… Did you use a specific type of pen?
Merci en avance 🙂

@SavBride: I would recommend checking Groupon. I just created mine on Picaboo, because that happened to be what my groupon was for. I ended up getting a $60 book for only $15. I don’t have it yet so I can’t post pictures but it was very easy to create. I’ve used various sites in the past (snapfish, shutterfly, picaboo) and they all have similar editing programs.

I made a guestbook on Blurb and have gotten great reactions from the few I’ve shown it too… there’s some great layout examples on the web. I asked our photographer not to blog our engagement photos so this will be a great way for our guests to see them. Beats signing a blank page, in my opinion 🙂

@Shanna777: I was thinking of using Picaboo as well, and will be sure to look for Groupon coupons. Are you letting people write on the photos or did you leave “clean” space for that? I can’t wait to see pictures when you receive it.

@O.My.Heart: Our wedding ins’t until next year ( a year from tomorrow ahh), but I am ever-prepared as usual. So I haven’t used a pen on it just yet. I plan on testing some different pens but am leaning towards the super fine black sharpees.
@Nic01: The mad libs and all the cool add ons were templates, so I literally just dragged and dropped them into the pages along with the pictures. it was a lot of fun designing it and seeing the different types of pages they have. One page says, “in ten years, I predict…” and has spots for people to guess where we will be in 10 years. There are also templates for the bridal party to sign.
