I had a terrible experience at DB.

The consultant although nice, let me choose all of my dresses. I told her to choose some for me. All of the dresses were hidious. She did not help me fiz my dress, point of aspects of the dress, or doll me up. I left without a dress……….

I made another appointment and told them about my horrible experience and that I would like a more experienced consultant. The lady on the phone told me to come Saturday and that my consultant would be more experienced but may be helping more than one bride… SO OFF PUTTING. I just got done saying I had a terrible experience, I wanted to come back again and then they tell me this?

My aunt ended up making an appointment at a bridal botique about 45 minutes from my house. I was totally against going bc I thought it was going to be tooo expensive…… I walked into the other bridal shop on Thursday. The lady was attentive, helped me in and out of my dress, dolled me up, and pointed out parts of the dress. I was the ONLY bride in the botique. I feel in love with a dress. It was 1000 but well worth it.

Dont think DB is your only option on a budget. My dress was 1000 but I saw many dresses 500-800 dollars, and thats what I would have paid at DB.

One of the full-body ones from the wedding.

One of the store pics.

My experience was fine. I had no issues at all. Was it super high-end? No, but my consultant was very nice and attentive and helped me pick dresses I liked. I found it my first time there and bought it that day – 14 months before the wedding – with no dress regret. 🙂

@lisaelanna:  thank you! the first pic has the sample sleeves from DB.  As you can see, I was a bit tangled in them.

@SaveFerris211: Hey we have the same dress! I love this one. I think the second pic you posted is of another bee on here, and it is not a David’s Bridal gown. It’s one of the fancier more expensive ones that the David’s Bridal dress is an imitation of. But I think they are all beautiful; I am in love with lace key-hole back dresses. And David’s Bridal is a nice alternative if you are on a budget (as I am).

Here is the dress:

As for my experience at David’s Bridal, I thought it was fine. I actually didn’t want a lot of bridal attention, however. I didn’t want people fawning over me while I tried on dresses. That sort of thing makes me feel really uncomfortable. For that very reason, I was dreading dress shopping. So I went by myself to David’s Bridal on a weekday without an appointment. I had a consultant who was handling me and one other bride, and I told her right away she didn’t need to worry about me. So she didnt; she just brought me dresses if I needed them and zipped me up when I needed it and otherwise left me alone. I liked the keyhole dress right away, it was the third dress I tried on. I went back the next day with my aunt, showed her the dress and got it. No bell, no fan-fare. Just a quiet understated decision…which is exactly how I wanted it to be.It was under 700$ including alterations and I love it.

So I think it depends on whether you are on a budget and whether you need your dress buying experience to be a super big deal. If you don’t need all the sales people and all of your friends and family to gush over you while you cry in your champagne when you’ve found something pretty to wear for your wedding, David’s Bridal might be perfect for you.

Sorry pic is so large… not sure how to fix that. I was nervous about going to DB, but I have to say my experience was great. My consultant was so helpful and friendly. I went during the week and I would really suggest doing the same if you can… not crowded at all, so the appointment is all about you without the added pressure of feeling like you are being rushed. Pleasantly surprised with DB (Plymouth Meeting, PA store).

Not exactly the best picture of me- but was the first time I tried it on. I honestly had a great experience- it was a smaller store, and I went on a Monday- so I was the only one there. I went back two more times- the 2nd time was at a different store, definitely had a more pushy consultant and wasn’t thrilled. 3rd time was to the original store- and once again, it was great. I had multiple people helping me figre out all the accessories. So overall- was good!

@phimegaphi:  You’re right – Google lied to me! Bah! I knew the train looked different than what I remembered. Whoops. But yeah the back sold me, I LOVE IT.

Mine was Oleg Cassini, CWG394.  Experience at DB wasn’t that great, but I loved this dress and everyone thought it cost much more than it did!

I see some dress twins!
I went to David’s Bridal and didn’t like my consultent much, but I liked that they actually had the sizes so I could try things on I wasn’t swimming in.
I ended up getting my dress from a bride on here in the classifieds!
