Since my entire wedding set cost under $900, I decided to splurge on moissanite pieces for my wedding day jewelry. My reasoning was that I could wear the same set to other weddings and special occasions well into the future. I bought all of it through eBay at a huge discount, which made me feel even less guilty about the splurge. I don’t have any great pictures of me wearing it uploaded, but here they are:

The necklace is 14k white gold, 1.75 carats total. I think I paid around $600 for it, appraised for nearly $2k.

The tennis bracelet is 14k white gold, 11.5 carats total. I paid a smidge over $2k. The stones are each 4.5 mm in diameter and there’s 34 of them.

The earrings, again 14k white gold. Not sure what the total carat weight is anymore. The largest stone is 4 mm in diameter. I paid around $200 for those.

Have already worn them to one wedding and I’m sure there’ll be plenty more to go. Just another way to help me remember my special day. ๐Ÿ™‚ Definitely keep us posted on what you decide to go with!

@LittleAudrey:  My wedding band, ering and even gown were from eBay. I’ve saved thousands easily (my dress was just $50 shipped). I know it scares people because they can’t see what they’re getting in advance. But so long as you know how to work the PayPal system (ie if there are problems, letting them know within 45 days), ask the seller plenty of quesitons, make the terms of sale known in advance etc, eBay is amazing. Same thing for Amazon.

These are my 5mm (1ctw) unenhanced OEC moissanite studs and my 6mm (0.75ct) unenhanced OEC moissanite pendant. I love them, and wear them constantly – running, to the gym, to work, out for dinner, wearing jeans and a t-shirt. I only really take them out to clean or if I really have to! I really cannot capture how gorgeous they are in real life. Sparkly and beautiful! These pictures were taken indoors in natural slightly overcast lighting. Chain is 16″ which I personally like for everyday wear.

@RayKay:  Beautiful!!! I hadn’t seen much moissy in yellow gold. I love that OEC cut pendant! Didn’t even know they made it. Where’s it from? I also have several pairs of studs in varying sizes. Wear them everywhere. I’ve tried all sorts of other stones. Nothing beats the rainbow sparkle from the moissy. ๐Ÿ™‚

Edit: My pieces are also totally unenhanced. They were all graded as H – I in color per the appraisals.

@LittleAudrey:

@pfinarffle:

Thanks both! They are from MoissaniteCo. I like the warmth of unenhanced moissanite, it just goes better with my skin and it draws me in more. I bought these as I worried that when Amora Gem comes out (which will have an OEC cut too) I would not be able to ge unenhanceds. Now I just need to not lose these for a lifetime.

And they do look lovely in yellow gold!

I have a larger unenhanced OEC on way too, in my new ring. I should have pictures tomorrow or next day if I meet up with the FedEx truck!

@Jade33:  Not at all! It is their exclusive 6 prong. Ear156 I think from memory, which may be off! With locking backs.

Thanks- I love it!

You need to ask for the OEC cut if you are having a ring/pendant/earrings made- it is an extra cost.

You can also purchase loose OEC stones through Moissco- they are stunning, and I must say I far prefer them over the regular cut!

pendant from moissaniteco, I asked them to customize it with a pink moissy center. it’s now hanging around my mom’s neck on a gold chain! she loves it.
