@jothecatlady:  your pick is acrtually pretty close.  Originally, I was all over the place.  I was in deep like with Monique Lluhlier Addie and this one below while dress shopping.

And I bought this one:

However, if I was dress shopping now it would be this one.  Heck I still love it, but Im not shopping anymore so I dont consider it the “dream”.

@jothecatlady:

WOW!!! Those two dresses are SO close!! I don’t know how much money you’re saving with the Allure, but I think your dress looks just as beautiful as the dream dress you love! I am posting from my Android phone and cannot upload pics, but I will try to come back later to post my pics.

@jothecatlady:  I should note that I had never seen my dream dress until long after I was already married, so it will bear little resemblance to the dress I chose.  Also, because I am plus sized, I could not really try on all of the sample dresses that I would have liked to have tried, and the full-blown ball gowns that I loved just did not look best on my figure.

I knew I wanted a 100-percent silk, strapless, ball gown with a sweetheart neckline and lots of bling and sparkle on the bodice.

DREAM DRESS:  Pnina Tornai

MY ACTUAL DRESS.  My photos do not show how much the Swarovski crystal-encrusted bodice sparkled, but, thankfully, the video really captured this well.

As an aside, I also LOVE this dress, another that I did not see until long after I was married, and it has NO bling on the bodice, but the skirt is amazing! 🙂

Pnina Tornai is my dream dress. But it’s like $15,000 and huge.

And the Casablanca 2072 is what I’ll be wearing! I love it.

@mepayne:  Believe it or not, that Pnina (if it’s even still available — I have no idea if it is or how much it would cost in today’s $s) retailed a couple of years ago for $24K-$25K, but a bride on SYTTD was able to purchase the damaged sample gown for about $15K — and that was after a lot of negotiating!

The dress you chose is beautiful!

@MASPA:  Not in person, it was one of the first gowns on SYTTD years ago. I was afraid that if I saw it I’d try to buy it and bankrupt myself. It’s bad enough I have TWO DRESSES…
