Sydney-Lou: I went to Vows, and they were SO. EFFING. NICE! I loved them. I was a plus sized bride, and they were so accommodating. The girl I had (I can’t remember her name) was the sweetest. We tried on different types of dresses and she really listened to what I was trying to say to help me find the perfect dress for me. They have a huge variety of dresses, so I’m sure you will find what you are looking for.

Hi there!

I went to Vows in Watertown, MA twice.

I previously had watched their show on TV and had gone with another friend to her appointment.
I must say both of my experiences were not great, but mainly due to the assistant I had, which was the store manager. She was super pushy and told me what I did or didn’t like. I’m pretty confident if you get another assistant it would much better!

I would recommend looking at the gowns online first and writing down ones that you think you want to try on. They keep the site pretty updated, and they said every 3-4 weeks they get new gowns.
I recommend this because once you get there, they sort of rush you through picking gowns. I went on Wednesdays both times, so I actually got to stay for like 2-3 hours. If you go on a Saturday, it’s busier so they’ll keep your appointment to an hour and half.

I also recommend going 15-20 minutes early to start looking around. The store is split into two sections, size 10 and under then size 12 and up. Wedding dresses are generally 2 sizes up from your street size. I happen to fit into 8-12, so the shopping felt a tad overwhelming. In some cases, they have the same dress in 2 different sizes, so don’t be afraid to ask.

There’s some really nice well known brand name dresses, some in great condition and some in not so great condition. Dresses that are popular, look a little beat up (beads missing or falling off to tears).

I would just say to keep an open mind and try on anything that catches your eye, cause they all look different on versus hanging in the bag.

Good luck!
