kjade9693:  I can’t show you a smaller stone (mine is marginally over 1 carat) but there will never be as much sparkle from an emerald cut stone. I get flashes of light which can be blinding under the right circumstances!

I love the elegant sleek look of this cut and it was something I’ve always wanted. The “steps” draw you in!

If you want personality from an emerald cut, make sure it’s a very good cut and the setting you chose lets the light in from all sides.

I have never heard that a smaller stone doesn’t show off the flashes of light.

I don’t have an Emerald cut. But I do have tapered baguettes. And they are only .14 each. And they still give beautiful flashes. So I think a well cut Emerald at any size will still give you that look you want.

Ring size 5.5 and total is .68 ctw. For my ring my eyes always go straight to the step cut middle, so I think they steal the show.

kjade9693:  Hi, I have both round and emerald cut diamonds, although they “shine” differently but trust me they each hold their own! One bee said it, you just need to be very choosy when selecting EC stone, high clarity and great cut are a “MUST”! Those are the key factors to affect diamond’s sparkle and visual size! Best of luck to you!

My EC sides are .69ct and .71ct and i wear size-5:

Hi. My finger is also a 4.75. I have a .83 square step cut and I adore it. It does sparkle. D color VVS1. Excellent cut. I get so many compliments as few people have square steps.
