My Fiance and I are taking our engagement photos Friday and I am having so much trouble planning our (well- his!) outfits! We rarely dress up so I’m keeping it pretty casual: dress with cowboy boots, comfy sweaters, flannel… However, Fiance is a bigger guy so he’s stressing out about what to wear to match me/how it’ll look on him.
Does anyone have advice or engagement photos to share to help us out?

We chose to go with Red and black 🙂 and also our rival football teams!

- Wedding: May 2015 - Walnut Hill Bed & Breakfast
We had “3” outfits. I had a casual dress (& cardigan) while he wore jeans & a dress shirt. Then we switched into jeans & t-shirts. And then we added some hoodies. Here’s a sample of each!

I love your ideas… I always love the cowboy boots/dress!!! 🙂
We did one outfit of very neutral colors, more dressy, and then chose another with a little pop. I think it is really fun to add a pop of color! My Fiance is very selfconcious of his size and was worried but ours turned out great! We ended up getting him a few nice shirts at kohls. Here is a look at ours, we had 3 outfits but we didnt get to our 3rd outfit bc of a thunderstorm.

citrusfloat: You should also check with your photographer. Although they won’t tell you exactly what to wear, they can give you tips on things that do or don’t photograph very well. Our photographer did anyways.

citrusfloat: We are both pretty simple with our style so we wanted it to show in our pictures as well. Keep in mind the weather, it was summer at the time of our photos, just rained the day before, so it was extremly humid and we were dying. Don’t wear a blouse like I did if you are going to be sweating your ass off. I wasn’t prepared and we both were dripping sweat, you can kind of tell but my blouse shows the sweat and I was not happy about that.

We had 3 outfits. super casual, semi casual, and dressy-
pardon the blurriness- they were gigantic & sizing them down skewed the pics a bit :/

citrusfloat: We stuck to a neutral, classic palette. We also did an outfit change. I regret doing the outfit change because I changed into a white sweater and jeans which I didn’t think ended up looking as flattering. I posted some of our pictures here: http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/update-engagement-pictures-with-pictures/
Here are our two outfits:

It was cold when we did our engagement photos so I dressed accordingly.

All of these are so beautiful. Thank you for sharing! Maybe I’ll take Fiance shopping and find him something he likes. I don’t think I’ve seen him out of scrubs in a month. 😀
@amberback: I think I want your photographer!

citrusfloat: We kept our outfits casual too! We were hanging out downtown, at a bar, bowling, etc…dressy outfits would have looked out of place. Plus, we wanted to look like our normal, every-day selves.

We did two outfit changes. In one I wore a sweater and scarf set with jeans and boots. In the other I wore a lace dress, tights, and a necklace.

I wore a champagne tea length tutu, black v neck top, with my grandmothers gold vintage waist belt and a vintage Chanel poison bottle necklace 🙂
