So I wasnt going to wear a flower crown for the wedding, but wanted one to wear after the wedding for our beach pictures. I made this one today and I LOVE it. I tried it on with my veil and I love it even more now. I think I’m going to wear it for the entire wedding!
Show me your beautiful flower crowns!

maritimebride2016: That is gorgeous, i’ve just decided i’m going to wear a small simple crown and veil.
Can i ask where you found instructions to make it?

rasmus: thank you!
I actually didn’t follow any instructions. I’ve been making a lot of floral stuff for our wedding (lanterns, bouquets etc).
I had all of the supplies here from my other projects and I just kind of put it together. I used floral wire, flowers from Michaels, and floral tape.
I cut the stems off the flowers, and cut the dusty Miller short.
Then I wrapped the floral wire around my head to get an idea of size. I twisted 2 pieces of floral wire together to make a more sturdy base for the crown.
Then I just attached each flower/dusty Miller piece using floral wire. I made sure to face then all in the same direction.
When I was done I just twisted the 2 loose ends together to form the circle of the crown, and wrapped the entire thing in floral tape so the wire won’t be sticking out 🙂

Props to you for making your own flower crown! I actually considered it at one point, but I was so swamped and there was one at Etsy I really loved so I decided I didn’t want another DIY project in my life and bought mine instead. But I think if I had the time and energy, I would have tried to make one myself.
Yours look so well constructed and I bet it’ll look so great! 😀

Me and my Maid/Matron of Honor hugging at my beach wedding 🙂
A coworker of mine used to be a florist so she made them for us with real flowers. I was so lucky that happened. Otherwise I was going to make it myself, and I doubt it would have turned out as nicely as yours! It looks wonderful!

maritimebride2016: I was going to make it myself but didn’t think i could do it right so I just had our florist make one. I also bought a back up one from etsy (that was fake) in case I didn’t like the real one. luckily the real one came out looking fantastic. Yours looks great. Good job making it!
Here is mine:
