Mine’s enormous with 5 point stones and 8 point pave but I love a big halo.  Goes against the grain but they typically refer to them as floral or lotus flower halo’s.  I was inspired by some of the Verragio halo’s many years ago.

The stones in my ring are a little over 2mm, with a 0.7 carat center stone. The cut of the center stone is what attracted me the most, and I love the shape and size of the halo.

ceeceelove :   Sorry….I get used to talking in point sizes when it comes to melee with my jeweler.  The stones in the halo are 5 points = .05 carats or 2.5 mm. The stones in the band are .08 and I have a matching full eternity band with the same size stones.  I find myself wearing the engraved platinum band with it more often though because it can be a lot of bling.  I get bored so I like to switch things up depending on my mood. This is a 2 carat VS2 H with G side stones that seem to match pretty well in regular daylight.  I wear a size 8 though so if you have a much smaller finger size you can go down on the center stone and still use bigger melee to get a little bit more of a floral halo vs the delicate style halo’s.  It is all about personal taste but I love a big halo and I drove my jeweler crazy with the small details. It is slightly tilted and I didn’t want to see any gaps around the prongs on the center stone and no airline. If you can get it custom made around your stone for a bigger halo, it will be worth it. Some people think it takes away from the center stone but I like the really tight halo that makes it look like all one stone from a distance. Again…very personal choices with halo’s.  One of my favorite’s is the emerald cut with the bigger side stones right above this post. Looks very similar in melee size but different center stone.

ceeceelove :  I wear a size 8 so big fingers. Your center is smaller but I still think it looks great with larger melee. They look more like floral halo’s and have been around since Victorian times so I don’t feel they really go out of style. Make sure you have a good jeweler who can execute this well. There are a couple different ways to set them.

ceeceelove :  thank you! The center stone is 1.5 carats and the halo stones are 2.4 mm. I wear size 5.  The bigger stones make it sparkle so much! I love it!

That sounds similar to mine! The center stone is just shy of 7mm, and the side stones are 2.7mm. I (subjectively) think it’s an awesome look!

ceeceelove :  My finger is a bit bigger; I’m a size 4.5, and the band width is 2mm. It tapers a bit where it meets the halo, and there’s a slight knife edge at the top too. The setting was custom made to look like an old Victorian cluster ring, so it’s SUPER low profile, and not to everyone’s taste. I like however, that the ratios of the center and side stones allowed for an even 10 melee in the halo. Hope you get yours soon!
