I had a high set solitare. For 14 years, I had no issues, then, all of a sudden I did.  Within 9 months, I had to have the ring repaired twice for moved or loose prongs.  I reset my ring to a lower setting because I was terrified I would lose my stone.  I do love the look of a high setting and how it allows the stone to really shine!

TwilightRarity :  thank you! No it was made by David Klass but the design is based off of the torchiere by Mark Morrell.

monika54 :  it really didn’t take long at at all. Most of the time I don’t even feel it on my finger, thanks to the super thin band and comfy fit (not a snug fit on cold Winter hands). Mine is an etsy custom ring and the metal doesn’t feel weak, the prongs are suuuper strong and flush to the stone, I really love it and have had zero problems. I wanted wider prongs for security and so many people here have had tiny prong issues. I got engaged December 22nd 2017.

Please excuse my crusty, dry skin… it’s actually been cold here in Arizona 😅

Mine is a tulip, cathedral setting and it sits up a little high. I’ve gotten use to it now tho!

monika54 :  mine is a high set moissy. I think it detracts from the setting by being so high. And I knock it on my desk etc all the time so much so that the stone has fallen out and I have had to have it reset

I love the look of your diamond! Do you happen to know what color grade it is?

my RHR sits pretty high. So does my e ring, I’m use to it and love “chunky” jewelry .

I love the look of high settings! Mine was a little overwhelming at first especially because the band is so thin, but after a few days I got used to it. The only time I’ve actually snagged it on something is when I’m washing my hair lol.

I think I have a high setting.

Pros: love how the center stone stands out. The profile view is beautiful. I wear it all day on my days off with no issues.

Cons:  I’m a RN and can’t wear it to work. It rips gloves and I was afraid that when i take off gloves it would come with it and I’d loose my ring!

Overall i wouldn’t pick anyother setting love this one!
